About Earth Connection Cacao Meet the Founder
I am Joe, the founder of Earth Connection Cacao. My journey with cacao began as part of a deeper calling—to reconnect with nature, spirit, and the wild soul within. As a shamanic practitioner and spiritual guide, I use cacao in rituals and coaching to help people slow down, drop in, and remember who they truly are. Earth Connection Cacao was born from that same intention: to offer cacao with integrity, reverence, and heart.
I chose to start supplying cacao because I want to see the landscape of cacao consumption change—not towards something more frequent and convenient, but the exact opposite. This beautiful gift from Mother Earth should be honoured and respected. The millennia that it has been cared for and cultivated by the people of Central and South America deserve our utmost respect.
So I supply to educate and to protect. I hope you’ll join me on this journey.
Vision
To restore the sacred bond between humanity and the spirit of the earth through the ancient wisdom of cacao, awakening deeper connection, healing, and harmony with nature.
Mission
At Earth Connection Cacao, we honour the sacred traditions of cacao, offering pure, ethically sourced beans that carry the spirit of the land. Our mission is to guide seekers back to the wisdom of the earth, fostering rituals that ground the soul, open the heart, and deepen the connection to all living things.
The Cacao
All of our cacao comes from Cacao Source, a regenerative initiative based in Guatemala that works hand-in-hand with Mayan families and local cooperatives. They uphold traditional practices such as fermentation in wooden boxes, sun-drying, and hand-sorting, ensuring the cacao retains not only its quality but its soul.
Cacao has been used ceremonially for thousands of years by the Indigenous peoples of Central and South America. In Mayan and Aztec cultures, it was more than food—it was sacred. It was medicine, currency, and offering. Cacao was drunk during rites of passage, in ceremony, and as a way to commune with the spirit world.
When we drink this cacao today, we are part of that living tradition. We honour the land it grows in, the people who have cared for it across generations, and the spirit of cacao itself—a gentle, grounding force that opens the heart and reminds us of what matters.
This is not just a product. It’s a prayer. A plant. A teacher.
And it’s an invitation—to reconnect.
From Fire, Comes Love
Just as nettles sting, but dock leaves soothe,
and the bee’s sting finds balm in plantain beneath your feet,
nature never offers a wound without a remedy nearby.
So too with cacao.
Grown in the volcanic soil of Guatemala -
a land shaped by fire, movement, and ancient upheaval -
this sacred plant rises from the very heart of volatility.
Among forty volcanoes, where the earth cracks and breathes,
cacao grows - tender, rich, and heart-opening.
It reminds us:
from chaos, can come compassion,
from fire, can come warmth,
from the wildest forces, can come peace.
This is not softness born of comfort -
it is gentleness born of great power.
When you drink this cacao,
you are not just tasting sweetness -
you are sitting with a spirit that has known eruption and still chooses love.
